The Afternoon Show, on Wednesday 4th November, did a great segment on how to boost your immune system this winter. A strong immune system is vital to maintaining good health and avoiding nasty colds and flu.
As we all know, food is our first defence against these ailments. By taking better care with your diet, you will protect yourself against illness and costly trips to the GP!
On the show, nutritionist Paula Mee discussed a range of foods and highlighted 4 recipes that contain immune boosting ingredients.
Recipes included:
- Winter squash and sweet potato soup
- Beef Mediterranean casserole
- Ward off winter drink
- Mango and orange mousse
We particularly liked the Ward off winter drink. The miracle concoction contains manuka honey, lemon, ginger and cloves. You will really see its powerful effects if taken at the first sign of a cold.
